can anyone help me with this ? Where this train crash happened ? I know it was photographed by a train track repair unit of the germany army attached to the 177 Wehrmacht Division Russia 1942. Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 45. 177. Division.

It would be great if I could ID the location ?

          Thank you. Ian

Amazing photos in colour. The RSO Boy what a train wreck though.

I agree with Tony, great shot of the RSO demonstrating 2 different camouflage schemes. It'll give anyone who is into modelling that particular vehicle plenty of food for thought. Thanks for posting it Ian.

                      Hello Ian !

Many thanks for the continous "supply" to this thread and your fantastic work on restoring these old images !
Every time a great joy to look at them, although I do not mention it every single time I look.
Please keep the outstanding work going !

Regarding the train crash in #829 :
Both units mentioned, (Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 45 and Div.Nr. 177 are units from the Ersatzheer/replacement army).
Typically, these would send soldiers to a frontline unit. With only this info, it will be difficult,
to locate the place of the accident.
Perhaps it could help to show, where these unit designations are mentioned.

                      Merry Christmas,

                      Archi

I had a minute during the holidays to photograph some of my war time original film and packaging.

I love the designs and colours and also seeing what little boxes these soldiers were carrying around the front..

                                Enjoy.
                                Ian .
