Hi guys ! :-)
Iv mentioned before.. I have invested every cent of my life for years buying these rare old color photo slides. I want to put all 24 thousand on pixpast.
Everyone can look on the site for free and if anyone is doing a nice new book on.. for example daggers of the german army... they can pick out a few nice color photos showing the daggers they want and order the pictures for their books...
I get a few dozen requests every year for people needing very special content and this way.. they can find it themselves by using the search option.
Please dont be too annoyed by the heavy water mark... its just a little safety system for me... :-)

I have a question about this one...
Its a german color slide taken in Greece I believe 1943.
German wehrmacht sitting on the front of a captured American Willys Jeep with what looks like Greek volunteers.
I would like to know... how would the germans have got their hands on an american jeep in Creece ? and also do you guys think the civilians are... POWs ? ...or Volunteers... Partisans ?
Id like to understand this picture better.
Thanks guys.
Ian :-)

Color War Slides from Ian
Material was shipped around. I had a German helmet once that was found at war'a end laying on the floor of a jeep at a German installation in southern Norway. It still had Russian markings on it even though the northern front was 1000's of kilometers away and there was no direct overland route.

I do appreciate the need to watermark your photos (24,000 - jeez) but perhaps you could opaque the Pixpast.com bit like the circle ?
I sincerely hope you have your collection in a suitably safe, fireproof environment. To lose so much priceless historical material would be tragic.
Thank you for posting - any Panther pix ?? :-)

hi John.
I think I can change the watermark like you said.. thanks for the good idea.
About safety.....mmmm......
I was offered a fire proof safe a few months back but the problem is... where I live there is only room in the apartment for something like this... but pulling up such a monster weight 3 storeys in a old building is not really possible.
Does anyone know of a ... not so heavy solution to this.
This is something I have to do !
If the worst happened.. and my apartment went on fire.. there would be certain important parts of german military history lost.
If anyone can help me find a good fire safe solution for my collection,... please send me an email at ian.spring@gmail.com
Thank you.

That is a rare pic--I believe those would be members of "Darby's Rangers" captured after the Battle of Cisterna:Attached FilesNEC SOLI CEDIT
