The place is St-Germain-des-Prés which I think is part ot Paris?? The name of the suma tank is 'GALIENI'

very nice yes but i have a little doubt about Saint Germain des Pres....which is in the exact middle of Paris, it could be Saint Germain en Lay instead ?

You might be right I was just going by the website I linked to. I was a little confused as the unit pulled back to 'Gien'

Will see If I can get in contact with the site owner ands get some claification. Mon French par bon though.

i just redid the original TIF scans tonight from these 2 great war time color slides showing 2 of the first 150 ever produced T34 tanks. Russia 1941.
