    Ted,

Both look like WW2 Luftwaffe flight helmets. The one on the left looks like a wartime LKpW101 and not a Russkie copy because it doesn't have the vertical retention straps forward of the earcups they put on their copies. The LKpN101 looks wartime as well as the postwar Russkie copy had a different mesh pattern (light shade of brown too).

They are just flight knives in general,no para knives..
Every member got one and they're not private purchase.
Yes,pics are hard to find, probably because the knife was always carried in the pocket..

Thank you very much, Gene! I suspected these are Luftwaffe, but had to ask the specialists! Trying to find out now exactly when the photo was taken. IMO sure in the 50's, the Bulgarian AF used these very long seems. Also want to find on what aircraft flew these commies.

If I was a betting man, I'd say the pic dates from the late 60's. As for what aircraft they would have used these in, your guess is as good as mine. If the aircraft intercom/radio system used four-pin connectors like the LW helmets were wired with, then all they had to do was change the connector so that the pins on the helmet would match the pins on the aircraft's hookup.

You're almost right actually! Appeared that the poto is from late 50's or early 60's! And of course the helmets must have been used in even later period. Still waiting for reply what aircraft were flown at the time in that fighter unit...
