Where came the strap from, from flight googles ?
And (for) what is the turnable disc on the bottom?

      Thanks and Regards

The strap is a mix of something that might be flight goggles for a part plus ?

The disc at the bottom of this type can be turned to totally white or half white, might has something to do with night and day, but the exact purpose I don't know.
Something I've read is that the bottom of the backside had a sliding opening so a map could be viewed through the top of the compass face.
Don't know how to see that..

      Nice question to find out..

        Thanks Jos!
I`ll display this AK with that strap, i think it`s period made.

        That was my first thought!

FL numbers are usually found on aircraft parts, LW fieldgear, but here is something more extraordinary, a fuel barrel with its own FL number

              TMT
              1941
              Fl. Kraftstoff
              200 L
              FL Nr 68840

Does Ikea sell cabinets for barrels?

Luftwaffe life raft in its bag. This one goes with the seat pack parachute. Almost complete as the inspection booklet and the instructions leeflet are missing...

Yes, you´re right, it is Czech afterwar compass

                            Greetings.

I stumbled across this german LW canteen in a salvation army store today. I go there regularly to check if any militaria has come in, but I´ve only found a mauser K98 bayonett earlier... This was quite the surprise. I paid 50 NOK / 5 POUNDS /6 EURO, or 10 USD for it

Its been repainted, probably by the Norwegian army. There are some dents and paintloss that reveals a yellow paint underneath. What and how does the original LW flieger canteens look like? I saw one on ebay but that had no paint at all. The interior smells like gasoline. Im considering using a paint remover very carefully to peel the outer layer off. The yellow layer seems very thin. What do you guys think?

Edit: Guess I just found the answer to the yellow paint
