This is a total fantasy piece and theres nothing correct about it except maybe the Belgian shoulder titles (Someone sent me close ups). I cant believe its current bid price!

Guys, take a look at this one, also pure fake:

Beware of that seller, he has a bunch of crap for sale.

            Hi Simon,

Here is an interesting close up photo. The guy who made up the jacket must have thought the postwar Danish/Norwegian army "KASS" stamp (Meant for the interior of Bd jackets used by them) was some sort of secret code used by the S.A.S. during WW2. Why else did he put it on the exterior above the ribbons?

Oh and the guy must have been very confused serving in the British SAS and with the Free Belgian Army at the SAME time

and even more confused considering he was apparently not only in the S.A.S. but also the Infantry!

                  Luc,

That is also a joke. In a way I guess its good that they are no where close to what an original should look like. But give them time

Des, if you read this guys feedback you can see he buys the insignia from sidekick325. Draganow is not trying very hard to disguise he's selling crap. And you have to very inexperienced to trust that CWS stamp!

Your Belgian SAS guy has an "interesting" career.

In some cases such a blouse may be a good buy if the price stays low when it is ignored by weathered collector's; you might get a cheap blouse that way.
                    Cheers, Luc

So I surpose the first lesson, espically for those like me with bad eyesight or those forking out a fortune is get those extra photos. Those certainly through a different light on the picture.

                        Hi Simon,

There is a seller (the name escapes me now) who adds to every item description: don't assume anything. That is a good point I think.
Yes, if you have any doubts, don't buy it. And I naturally distrust any item with poor pictures!

Well guys, I took the unusual step of letting the high bidder know the truth. I sent him some photos of real BD`s to give him an idea of what a real one should look like and his reply was "Whats the difference? only the lack of pegasus patches?". I explained in detail why it was wrong and the reply I got was "I see..."

Incredible not even so much as a thank you. Well thats the last time I bother trying to warn a lazy collector!

Des there is no use warning people like that, they will buy what they like and be more than happy to tell everybody it is real and that everyone is wrong.

Or that they trust the seller because he has been at this for a while. The only thing you could have done is to give a link to this forum.

Des, I once told the seller of a Fairbairn Sykes knife that it was of postwar manufacture and not wartime as he told in the item description. I gave at least 3 arguments and I told him what reference books I use to come to this conclusion.

I will not quote his reply as it would not pass the profanity filter. I have never been more insulted in so few words.

What I do weekly is report items to ebay that are listed in the wrong category (postwar listed as WW2); that is as far as I go now.

And just for laughs I contact cunnard every now and again and ask him if some item is genuine, but only when I'm bored.
