The Para helmet I would imagine was camo'ed post war, but it is impossible to tell for sure. The helmets saw use well into the late 1980's. Unless their is some good provenance with it, I would always play safe and say post war camo. Regarding the name was their any more info? The price, well not cheap, but the way things are going....
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Ade,
No more info on the name, I could ask the vendor to see if he has any more info on this guy.
I found this one in an old shoe box, so it must be at least 30 years old, from what I have learnt from you guys, I would like to put to the test my conclusions.
So here are a couple of scans and your comments will be welcomed.
Simon, my post-war cloth is a little hazy but I think that is the 6th Field Force. They often get sold as a rare wartime Airborne unit. I'm sure one of the other cloth buffs can elaborate.
YEP .... BANG ON ,
6TH FIELD FORCE 1960S /70.S I think
these often turn up stitched to war time B.D ,s as they are in the colours of the ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS ( YELLOW /BLUE )
regards ,Michael.

I can't be of help with the badges. The FS knives and their prices have been discussed in a recent thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=73875
The second pattern is genuine, I can't be sure about the third pattern without some more info.
Personally I'm not too fond of their polished look, I think this would decrease the value. It could be restored though.
