Well, latest test results on the Rank insignia are showing a glow on the white thread around gulls and lower bar. No glow on the border of the square swatch that is attached to suit. I am guessing repro for the insignia, but looks pretty cool none-the-less. I will post some close-up pics of insignia.

On the same show (sometimes it is worth waking up early in the morning). It looks original to me but the Luftwaffe experts on this forum will tell if good or not good. I didn't hesitate considering the price, not even what I would have paid for the flares...

I like the mannequin sofar,needs a off.belt,but try to find some original ranks,think these are rather big and strange color..
It won't be easy,but I'm sure there's something to find..
Nevertheless,just continue your work,I'm sure it will be a great mannequin at the end.

That sure seems to be the trickiest part to date is finding period insignia in the Summer cloth. I am sure not having any luck finding any. I have a few that are mismatched rank.

Why sew on original rank and make it something it never was?

You have a good point Gene. I should just leave it be. I have a very nice mint Fliegerkombi with NO rank that displays well. I think we have established before that many during the war were not ranked while in use.

Good move. I'd leave it as-is but I'd still like to see closeups of the sleeve rank insignia if you get a chance to take pics.

i am going to do a display at local museum. Already got LkP S101 with throat mics. Also got a pair of boots and a repro kapokvest.

Need compass, belt, holster. Got a flare pistol and flares.
