for me that means also that WICO zippers are good on wartime items as from 1945 until 1991 there simply was no zipper manufacturer named WICO ... or am I wrong in this point?

Good to hear, because I sold a pair of flightpants to a member which had koh-i-noor snaps all over and Wico zippers on the legs and other parts, none of them were ever replaced..,besides that the pants still had the flagpole pocket on the leg, which IMO will not be found on postwar items.
It's proof for me enough to think koh-i-noor and Wico were era used.
I think the info in the advertisment is misleading to hide their part during the war.

The pair that I have that are very similiar to your boots, have metal zippers and are marked "DePe" on the pulltabs.

Jos, do You remember perhaps the making of the WICO zippers on this pants? Were they zamac die-cast or punched sheet? And were they marked on the backside with "Czechoslovakia"? Would be nice to know for me.

        Thank You,
        Steve

The zippers were cast with Czechoslovakia on the back..
A friend had a exactly similar pair of flightpants with RiRi and Zipp marked zippers and with Koh-i-noor and Stocko marked snaps.
Sometimes all zippers are different,I've had a pair of pants which had 5 different zippers.

Other makers are DRP,Rapid,Prym,Elite,DePe,Rheinnadel, plus a few others..

Jos, thank You very, very much.

There is a guy who doubt the originality of my pilot leather jacket due to its WICO zipper and exactly these very features and he started to getting me nervous ... I couldn't convince him with the history of the manufacturer alone.

BTW,there're also flightboots with the Wico zippers in question..,I've had a great brown pair, brown suede on top with light brown leather shoeparts and with the extra strap around the heel.
Probably Czech made but they had a German label sewn in...,perfect pair, still wish I had these in the collection...

                            Absolutely stunning !!

I am 'close' to having enough equipment to complete 2 mannequins. One for a bomber pilot and the other for a fighter pilot.

                                Hi RamJet

                                Nice Leather jacket.

I have some comment about it.

                                1. I dont think that the Breast Eagle and Pilot Badge have been with the jacket from the war.

                                2. The loops for the shoulder boards seems too be add later, they dont have the same "wear" as the jacket.

                                3. maybe i dont matter but i seem too be a odd place for the Pilot Badge as well.

Well your jacket is in Mick J Prodgers Book Flying clothing of the air war 39-45 on page 81.

                                Regards
