    WOW what a thread!
I wish we could see the 650 (or maybe 6500 ?) helmets from Charly, maybe as soon as he'll have change the batteries from his camera (the supermarket was close those last days, my car has been stolen, ....)

What to say about the fraud? It's a part of this hobby, the part I don't like at all.

      Have Charly replies been removed?

No, I've seen those about 1h30 ago.

By the way, "Charly" was the vietcong nickname, no?

I hope it is clear now
          Yes it is.
I think there was a problem with "pasting" quotes to the wrong member somewhere.
But what I'm saying is that 3 or 4 members here, maybe more, think that the man in question has already appeared puking ill will left and right, under a couple of differnt ID's, that's all I meant.

People will no longer say, "Ken, yeah, don't worry about his stuff", now they'll say, "Ken, yeah, be careful when buying from him".

He has permanently lost his status as a top dealer of course, but it's not like he'll have to close up shop.

I'm thinking it will take him a while to get over this one. With nearly 20 pages of pissed off replies & close to 19000 hit's ( no end in site ), you'd be your own worst enemy to buy from Ken N in the future. If you've got a helmet you want to sell & it just happened to come from Ken originally & the buyer wants to know a bit of providence, as soon as the buyer knows were it came from you can guarentee they'll take a step sideways, the flow on effect of what he's done. He's been caught out in the past doing the same thing & has shown nothing but contempt towards the very people the provide his bread & butter. This to me is high end fraud, no different to when there's 100's of thousands of dollars involved, the crime is the same, HE INTENTIONALLY DECEIVED TO GAIN PROFIT ! Maybe one of our fellew collectors in the USA should report this to the appropriate authorities for investigation. At least would send a loud clear message to those that are prepared to gain profit from deception (and there's obviously quite a few ). MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF THIS ONE WHILE THE EVIDENCE IS FRESH !!

what has happened here is no diffrent to me putting a high end fake or messed with helmet on the e-stand and claiming totally unmessed original helmet with coa and e-stand rules.
i would be bounced from this forum without question.
truely a sad day for helmet collecting,i think ill resort to collecting thimbles and silver spoons

Well Prussian Guard if enough collectors become excollectors because of this, helmet prices will drop and become affordable again and new collecotrs will get excited about the hobby again! Maybe he did us all a favor, ya think?

It would probably be a good thing if helmet prices did come down because of this but some how I cant see it happening. All this does is creates doubt and suspicion on all helmets being offered by online dealers.

I noticed Ken was In the insignia forum yesterday for quite a while, perhaps he's now looking at a new field of fraud...lets face it he can still sell and collect helmets but he will never be able to post or show his face in public without somebody having a go direct or talking behind his back.

Its a shame really because Ken had a lot to offer and had an extencive high quality collection a nice informative website with respect from the helmet fraternity.

                  RIP

Total contempt and arrogance. He was recently caught adding a liner to a shell, and managed to come up with some lame-ass excuse that I believe few bought. Loosing even 5% of your customers and your reputation will effect him significantly, and add the fact that he will be unable to attend or work any shows. Whatch out for a slew of "original German helmets" popping up on ebay from the same seller. The helmet man?

What is the point with Mr. Bell? Just curious

are you talking about mr brian bell of German helmets.com????

and with the regard to Helmet prices they will never come down in price what was 200£/$ ten years ago is 1500-2000£/$ now and in another ten years your original helmets will be worth up to 10000£/$. i think large collections will become a thing of the past, collectors will just have two or three pieces in a collection.

Hi Guys, yes my reference was to Brian Bell of German Helmets .com but I have now edited that post as after thinking about it I could see that might change the focus of this thread and open a real hornets nest and really I think this should stay on track. But if you do some search under that name both here and German Daggers you will see they share common traits.

                              Gentlemen,
It should be mentioned that I have had a resolution in my personal experience with the infamous swapped liner episode vis Ken N. He has made good both to myself and the original buyer of the helmet. I don't know that this "proves" a swap. but it does prove when an error was made, it was corrected.

I don't think swapping liners and misrepresenting the helmet can be classified as an "error".
