    Hello Luc,

well that is kinda what I was thinking myself,

but I always thought the law in regards to war time berets was if it had no metal vents, it was post war?

Hi Ric, take a close look at the beret. To me it appears there are traces of them? Look too at the marks on the beret and how there is an impression of where the material has folded over.

Not heard of this maker either.

      Cheers, Ade.

I have seen a pre war black beret by J.Compton Sons & Webb but don't recall seeing a WW2 example, although I have other types on headress by them.

I have seen a 1945 dated maroon beret made by Compton, I have no doubts about its authenticity. Must have been a small order though.

Not surprised that this didn't sell. Though undoubtably an original beret I think it is more likely an RAF one rather than Polish.

I've been told it is possibly a Qaranc beret.

Reminds me of the ex-"Bridge too far" helmets that hit the market in the early 80s.
