I was stunned to see the final sales price and I hope the seller gets paid. It will set a new reserve price on future maroon berets with desirable cap badges added.

Nice looking beret but way overpriced, especially considering the use of a badge with slider.

          Absolutely, crazy stuff.

I would have wanted a lot more pictures of that thing If I was going to bid. Is It me or did the colour look a bit funky?

          Yours, Guy.

Helmet looks ok but top pad might be a post war mod, not sure though. Check out the sellers other para lid. Did CCL make wartime liners, don't think so....

                  fake ww2 para helmet

only BMB & G&S made ww2 liners for para helmets. funny how the dates are always faded or scratched out?

, thought you would think the same J. can't believe how much this sold for, people just don't seem to ask any questions any more.

They did Lee, but not airborne helmets. It is made up from various helmets I believe.

Yes, I was forgetting they did liners for the Zuckerman Civil Defence helmets, so, as you say, probably made from a number of parts. If I remember correctly, someone was selling bundles of these CD liners on ebay a while ago.

according to New Orleans drummer Earl Palmer, he used the word " funky " to explain to other musicians that their output should be made more syncopated and danceable,

cannot see the co-relation with the colour of an Airborne Forces beret !
perhaps the colour was the result of the camera of the seller or volcanic ash in the atmosphere
