can you confirm the line of the top flap edge?
basically, the top line of the waist pockets should be straight, 180 degrees, and seem so here....but the breast pockets shouldnt be...original tunics had the pocket flaps sloping downwards...
this repro, as with other display pics of such repros, seem to show the breast pocket flaps sewn straight on...like with so many "standard" repros around. if so, in my opinion, this is w r o n g.
i had thought these items were in part an attempt to push the envelope, over and above the flaws of janke"s gentlemens leisure jacket tailoring for his combat tunics...
also, the work inside should be as interesting as out...can we see this? and the underside collar for hbt used, etc?
thanks in advanceLast edited by corporalSteiner; 10-23-2013, 05:17 AM.

I am a simple hobbyist, much more fascinated by how to make uniform than the uniforms themselves!
I am an autodidact, I did learn in many original period books and screw up a lot of fabrics before having something correct!

Finally finished my Political display.
The Tunic is from ww2sale.
The collar piping i done myself.
The complet collar tabs are made from scratch with velvet and piping, the devices are repros from Stephan.
The tunic came with plain gold buttons, changed them to political ones with the eagle on them. They're repros from japan, hell don't ask me how much they had cost.
The armband is from Historical-Militaria, but was for Kreis level. Converted it with piping to Reichs level.
The cap is from Stephan too, including the wreath and cords.
The cap eagle and leader belt are originals from a member here.
And yes i know, the orders of the german eagle are allmost impossible to be awarded for the displayed rank. Lets say here i took artistik freedom for the sake of cool looking.
For the manequin had the plan to come up with something less then 15 euros.
Finally touch 16 euro, but still pretty afordable for a manequin.
Now just need to do 2 others and smooth the neck area and paint the faices.
Hope you like it. Comments welcome anyway.

Second uniform is for a SS Oberfuehrer.
This time with correctly shoulderboards with only 2 stars.
The gabardine tunic came from ZIB-militaria.
The collars and shoulderboards are from Historical-Militaria in italy.
Breeches from Union-Malitaria.
The complet cap came from Stephan in germany. Put it in shape with a lot of boiling water and burned hands. LOL But that did make the jaunty look.
Rest of the stuff don't remember anymore were i have it from.
Greetings

Updated my M37 uniform a bit.
Changed it to Brigadefuehrer.
The tunic and breeches came from Spearhead in Singapore.
The collars, shoulderboards, officer belt, cuff title and EK-ribbin with spange is again from Historical-Militaria in italy.
The ribbon bar is a mix of ebay stuff and Union-Militaria.
The romanian crown order is a original and fits to the last ribbon bar on the right side.
The cap is from Stephan in germany, specially manufactured for me.
The cap insignia were purchased as Zimmermann repros on the net.
The rest of the stuff don't remember anymore from were i got it.
Greetings
Robert

SS Tunics
Robert,
My main suggestion is to get some sew-in shoulder boards for those high ranking SS tunics. Stephen or Historical should have some or maybe ebay or Marshals Baton.
I would think that Oberfuhrer would be wearing a silver piped visor hat.
Thanks for posting your projects. It's always great to see what others are creating.

I'm not really into repros but put these 2 together for the fun of it because of my Dutch heritage!
First up:
A Waffen SS pattern M42 5 button with 2 hole suspension ,badged up to represent Waffen SS Flak Batterie "Clingendael". The cuff title is speculative!
The unit certainly had Dutchmen in it (from Nord-West) and even 1 Swede! They guarded stutzpunkt Scheveningen West wall fortifications on the Dutch coast,
as well as the Clingendael estate/The Hague (many bunkers as well ) where Arthur Seyss-Inquart resided (Nazi boss of Holland). So guarding his compound!
They were eventualy absorbed in "Landstorm Nederland" , another territorial security SS unit based in Holland.Last edited by NickG; 10-24-2013, 12:35 AM.

Next up an Oberartz (Medical Doctor) Obersturmfuhrer rank in "Brigade Nederland" , Regiment "General Seyffardt" (CT)
This unit evolved from the Freiwilligen Legion Nederland. The original unit had Dutch officers in front line combat positions,
but in its new Brigade, and ultimately Division status it became more of a VolksDeutsche unit and lost most of its Dutch (chore) character,
and the remaining officers of Dutch origin were to be found in the medical staff, hence me choosing the medical branch (blue farbe!)
(the rank tab still needs work...need a tresse strip for the appropriate rank...Anybody?Last edited by NickG; 10-24-2013, 01:09 AM.
