Well, I don't know Ken but all I can say is that I once bought an SS M43 cap from him and was very happy with what I got.

    That's only my personal experience.

As the saying goes, there's good and bad in everything.

      I absolutely agree with you.
One thing is saying that one helmet has a problem, another thing is saying that Ken sold only bad items.
      I refuse this opinion.

It's beginning to sound like a COA from Germanhelmetsinc.com isn't worth the paper it's written on.

But alot of helmet collectors really depend on this to explain something wrong.

Yes nearly all dealers sell both good and bad, wether knowingly or not is allways up for long debate. But getting caught actually making the bad piece(more than once) is a whole new level. You don't just become the seller your also the " ". I too would be curious if a COA went with this one as well.

IMO ANY coa from ANYONE isn't worth the paper its written on. Its the obscene prices that some are willing to pay for these items that is partially to blame for the greed of others. When nice helmets were a few hundred bucks no one cared about batch numbers etc. Get your stuff directly from vets & their families and you won't have to worry about monkey biz. IMHO that wasn't a very nice looking lid anyway I would have gutted it and made it into a lamp.

Some time after it sold it was for sale on Kens site, extraordinarilly enough with a liner that has never been tampered with. It had good photo's of rusty split pins too, which if i didn't know the helmet, would have had me fooled any day of the week.
Now this is really getting weird!<O</O

I’ve owned this helmet you’re talking about and I bought it of Ken’s site. I later sold it on Ebay (to a WA member) an guess what… it reappeared on Ken’s site with info on where it came from not mentioned before…..(the <ST1Ardennes</ST1..)<O</O<O</O

BTW The buyer told me someone was warning the bidders about the liner and I think that person was you Greg, or not..

To avoid any mix-up, his goes for teh ss helmet greg mentioned ("Winkler") and not the Police helmet...

Spoke to the buyer and seems there is a COA coming with the Helmet......

As Panzerlord has said, lets wait till the helmet arrives, but as others have said, the COA isn't worth the paper it's written on if the helmet has been tampered with and a topline historical piece has been ruined for a few extra $$$$$.......
