correct me if I'm wrong but I would add that rayon, when burnt, generally leave a pulverable poreous black mass.

Greetings All,
I wanted to add this link to this Heer reproduction cloth insignia thread. This is an excellent collection of original Heer breast and cap eagles that can be used as a reference tool The thread is: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=367761
Thank you Johnny for posting your collection.

Hi guys,
Does somebody knows if the DAK eagle inserted by Fred is a repro or an original one?
Thank you!

Here are a couple more Heer eagles. The first one is a cut and folded DAK eagle and the second one is an uncut Panzer eagle. The panzer eagle is very scary in the design. The materials are very close but the "tell" is still on the back.

I know that 4 inner feathers are considered fake, but I needed a confirm!
Do you know the "Sigmund Stephan Militaria" website? if you have a look inside, there are shown many brest eagles examples, all repro declared; they have not the Swastika inside the corkade under the eagle, just because they are built as repros.. but I think they might also been produced with the swastika.. and they are very good examples, apart the 4 inner feathers inside..
But are we sure that 5 inner feathers brest eagles are not jet been produced?
because if the quality is so high, and the details are corrected, it becomes very hard to detect a fake..
