correct me if I'm wrong but I would add that rayon, when burnt, generally leave a pulverable poreous black mass.

        Imo breasteagle?

        Hi all,

Somebody told me this is a fake eagle. I bought it sometime ago in a good lot then I cannot say the exact price I paid but the lot was original hauptmann shoulder boards + original infantry collar tabs + fake eagle (sold as original) per 60 euro.

        This is the eagle:

            Greetings rafaelega,

I don't like that eagle at all! It seems to tall for its short wings. To my eyes it looks like the left wing is longer than the right.

MaxBrunn1938, That is one ugly eagle!

                Greetings Jerry,

Thank you very much for posting these newer High End repros! These will fool alot of people when sewed on. Once they are sewed on the eagles head and eye are the tells here. Thanks again!

                  and another thing!

                  Fred,
The backing for the cockade is always browner than the eagle, which I dont think is usual in matched pairs on original caps. Just a thought ?

                      Greetings All,

I wanted to add this link to this Heer reproduction cloth insignia thread. This is an excellent collection of original Heer breast and cap eagles that can be used as a reference tool The thread is: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=367761

Thank you Johnny for posting your collection.

I know this thread is for fake Heer cloth, but I though it would be ok to post this repro Meyer cap eagle, as there is not such a thread for fake Luft cloth.

                            Hi guys,
Does somebody knows if the DAK eagle inserted by Fred is a repro or an original one?
                            Thank you!

Here are a couple more Heer eagles. The first one is a cut and folded DAK eagle and the second one is an uncut Panzer eagle. The panzer eagle is very scary in the design. The materials are very close but the "tell" is still on the back.

It's a repro, the 4 inner wing feather fake.

                              Regards,

                                Thank you Jerry!
I know that 4 inner feathers are considered fake, but I needed a confirm!
Do you know the "Sigmund Stephan Militaria" website? if you have a look inside, there are shown many brest eagles examples, all repro declared; they have not the Swastika inside the corkade under the eagle, just because they are built as repros.. but I think they might also been produced with the swastika.. and they are very good examples, apart the 4 inner feathers inside..

But are we sure that 5 inner feathers brest eagles are not jet been produced?
because if the quality is so high, and the details are corrected, it becomes very hard to detect a fake..
