I have no doubt that this is indeed a Sippenleuchter but cannot give doubtless evidence for that either - that is just the way it goes with a lot of these cultural beauties and collectors who know about that and study the outward appearance of them know how to separate the good, the bad and the ugly.

And everybody can see and study them in this great thread.

Very nice leuchters Thorsten. Thanks for showing.

@Michael: Glad to see it is in your collection.I'm somewhat intrigued by the dates(year) that are carved in the plate.Could these be the years of birth of the parent and grandparent on both sides of the family ?

The dating of these pieces household decoration has me confused. The only way to date them is by hear-say?

And it may be SS. No definite proof, but i like these odds, heck i like it no matter who made it and used it...definitely somone who followed the same ideals.
here is something interesting I think...

                              Don,

This thread is not just about SS-pieces.

It is about cultural items of the period and therefore we share pics and infos and as already said sometimes we might agree to disagree - don´t think that it ever was unclear.

Nevertheless - for making you and other collectors happy - here is something which might be more SS-like:
