unfortunately, unidentified couple. On the bottom of the photo in pencil is signed "J. Merx, Würselen, 1943" but I assume that to be the photographer and not the ss mann. Never did any research but this is a huge photo prob. meant to be prominently displayed in the home.
Do you think I should have it framed? there is nothing on the back- photo is mounted to heavy cardboard cardstock.
it would look much better framed.. perhaps if available, TR period frame in iron or some metal-like frame.. i'd like to see pictures of someone that may have an actual picture from the period framed to get ideas..
Not a DHW chair - it is one of those typical Art Déco wooden - and due to the used material indeed a bit rustical looking - chair which was not that germanic style as the DHW pieces.
The DHW pieces are really typical, dure and stabil farmer chairs in which one can sit without problems for hours like I do right now
The most luxurious versions look like being made for a castle and are very representive - these DHW pieces spread out an atmosphere of high self-confidence, dignity and being with one´s feet on the ground - conservative.
