        Gefreiter Schumacher

        Hi Dirk, Gerdan, Raul,

Thanks for your help. Is Stonne near Gravelines in France? Where is Bourdon in relation to where he was killed in action. Anyway of finding out Wilhelm's unit?

        Regards,
        John

                grave with equipment

Here's a grave with the soldiers equipment and helmet laid on top. I haven't seen a photo quite like this before. There's writing on the reverse. If someone would translate it, I'd appreciate it.

                                Motorcyclist grave

                                Hi Gerdan,

Thanks for all the translations. Regarding the motorcyclist. Can you make out his name? It looks like Uffz. Meiners. What would have been done with the equipment on his grave? Would it have been sent to a supply depot?
