          Hi,

picture on post #9 was most probably taken in Hrubieszow, Poland as it is the only city that match the road signs and directions...

            Hi,

nice picture of a 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer on post #36.
It seemed that one wheel was destroyed. Was it due to the mud ?
            Or a shell ?
Now you have to check the military archives to find which unit lost a 15 cm howitzer and also encountered some russian tanks at the same timeline...
It seemed that the picture on post #35 is a repair/worshop heavy motorized company, maybe the Sdkfz 7 was used to transfer the damaged 15 cm howitzer ?

            See You

                    Ian,

Congratulation on your new great catch !

And I just noticed your He.126 in color, what a fine one that is, and I can clearly understand why you are so happy with that one.

                    Thanks for showing.

                    Best regards

                    Eric-Jan

                            Hi Ian,
I too find those pics with the military road signs fascinating and thought provoking,
also pics like this one just seeing the German troops march though enemy territory with the local signs around (not my picture though unfortunately).
                            Cheers

What a great thread! I love these color slides and what it makes even more interesting is that from some of them even the exact locations can be identified. History is coming alive here.

here is a nice surprise from today.
i am starting to get my 8mm and 16mm color home movies put on dvd and just got some back today.
i just spotted i have some wonderful color footage of captured wehrmacht soldiers near Nurenberg 1945 and some of the men are wearing Krim shields :-)
                                very cool.
                                Ian :-)
