I also found the entry in the Volksbund list for him:

      Nachname: Schmidt
      Vorname: Erich
      Dienstgrad: Oberschütze
      Geburtsdatum: 09.05.1910
      Geburtsort: Ilmenau

            Hi guys.

these are old slides I bought years ago but now newly scanned and looking very good

I really like old german slides showing different cameras. These ones are especially charming.

            Enjoy.

Your last two slides are great...but the wallpaper and matching lamp shade are hideous!!

                      Evening guys.

I received a realy nice new set today in the post.

A collection of 120 or so german war time color photo slides showing a Luftwaffe flak officer from France 1940 until Rome Italy 1944.

Also in the collection more than 200 all military 35mm black and white negatives of his time in France 1940 and 1941.

Black and white photos and sheets from the mans family album.

Large format negatives from his family in the first world war.

And the death card to the Luftwaffe flak officer from 1944.

I know the seller did sell about 10 color slides from this collection on ebay about 3 or 4 years ago but thankfully he kept the best stuff all together.

Im very happy and proud that I can research and keep this collection together

Hope to show this great collection this week some time .

this is a shot of the luftwaffe flak unit based near Rome 1944.
Can anyone tell me what unit this is ?

They were based in France near Paris 1940 1941. Then Crimea Ukraine 1942 then to Italy until end of the war.

The soldier in the photos comes from Austria.. so mabye an adopted Austrian unit ?.

                        Thanks guys.
