Thankyou. You have illustrated that very well.

Anyone else have an idea about the "V" plus cross symbol?

          Cheers,
          Larry

Thanks for your answer. It could well be 10 Army. Here is another from the same series. It seems to be a V with a sword going through it.

                Cheers,

                      Hi,

Can someone please ID the symbol on the side of this StuG.
It looks like an "H" with a half-circle on one side.

Is it the symbol for Panzergruppe 4 - 4 Panzerarmee?

                      Cheers,
                      Larry

Larry, the unit is certainly 210th but CH is not the emblem of the unit - it means Chefgeschütz - Batterieführer. The other guns carried A, B, C, D, E, or F instead of CH.

I re-looked at the original picture, and now I am not so sure of it being 210... Can you take a closer look at the tactical marking on the front hull, Larry? You should read unit number below the self propelled artillery sign.

210 had mostly Ausf C/D. I have a couple of photos of earlier Ausf's from 210 but not at this clarity!

                                Thanks Akira.

Unfortunately the number under the tactical sign is not clear enough to make out what it is.

Here is another photo taken at the same site. The vehicles have the same tactical sign and maybe belong to the same unit?

The number under the tactical sign looks like a 4.

                                Cheers,
