      305. Infanterie-Division had a Mermaid unit symbol late in the war... Do you have any context around the picture? Maybe a estimate of where and when it was taken?

First of all, thanks to both your input!
        Jack, you're right on the IV./Flak RGT.12. / I./Flak Abt.73 sign, thanks a lot for clearing that!
Alan, i'm confused about the 18th panzer Division sign.
I know this picture is taken at Smolensk for sure, so if Smolensk was in Russian hands since Oct. 1943 and the 18.th. Art. was formed afterwards this picture must have been taken while under the 18.th. Panzer?
But this photograph is from 1941 so 18th Artillery Division doesn't exist yet.

None what so ever, sorry, i realy have no clue where the picture is taken.
Also, it has no writing on the back.
          Thanks for helping though!

I found germam announcement with this unknown symbol. It is the combination
            of symbols 18.Panzer-Division (18. Artillerie-Division) and 78. Sturm-Division.
The Chronicle says that in late April 1945 came "Panzer division".

            It is a mystery.

            Thank you, Martin
            18. Panzer-Division or 18. Artillerie-Division / XXIV. Panzerkorps (24.)

Dear nox, doesn't that document say about this?

                      Hi Aru-Ed,

the car could be a Renault type Primaquatre 1 model 1935.

                      Regards

                      Bert

                        Danke Bert,

And do you have an idea to which unit the car belonged?

That could well be possible, thank you!

                              Aru-Ed,
The clover leaf is rotated 45 degrees, so I am not 100%, but possible,
                              Regards,
                              Kerry.

                                Hello Kerry,

I noticed that too, but I do not know if it was common within a division to turn the sign for specific units?
