Unfortunately I don't know if Richard has published his book; it would be a great asset if he has.

The photo is from me, the Wolfsangel is supposedly I. Fliegerkorps and the twin is for Ln.-Abt. 31. I could not find a link between the Henckels' Zwilling mark and Ln.-Abt.31, but maybe the commander's name was Henckels?

    Did your photo come alone?

      Hi Akira,

the series consists of two photos without more information.
The idea of connecting to or Henckels Solingen
I had already. But I could find no evidence.

My theory at the moment is, the twins
Ln. Abteilung 31 / I. Abteilung Ln. Rgt 31 and the doubbel
twins for the II. Abteilung Ln. Rgt 31 stands.

      Only theory, no facts

Any ideas on a unit that might be associated with these items. The little aluminum badge may be a piece of field art. Appears to be for some type of Artillery Observation unit. The little sign with the Owl was supposedly posted on trains returning from the front. Any assistance would be appreciated.Jim

What about this pennant, found in "Donbogen" area (near Stalingrad).

                            Thanks!

Unknown signals? blitz on 1936 presto motorcycle. Can anyone help?

Hi everyone this is my first post so I hope it works!

I recently acquired a 1936 German Presto 98cc motorcycle. It is in it's original paint apart from the tank which had a coat of grey primer over the original finish.

Apparently these bikes where often used by the Hitler youth as messenger bikes and airfield runarounds in WW2. There are no signs that the bike was civilian registered in Germany post war an a military number plate is still attached reading WH-160854.
I've checked this and it refers to Wehrmacht in Konigsberg area. The insignia looks more like it is might be a Luftwaffe signals blitz.

Any help or leads would be much appreciated......

                                Hi Presto,

it looks like something does not fit here.
The "Truppenkennzeichen" belongs in the style to an Lw-Signal unit.
The nummber plate WH-160854 belongs to a "Heeres" unit !

Does some parts of the bike not belong together ?

                                Regards,

                                Dieter
