Very interesting observation, Holger:

I have been thinking in more or less the same way but I am looking now at possibly a WT series Bedford from the 1934-1938 period.

That is why I asked Patrick if he knew the source of the photo. If France, then little chance the vehicle could be British.

If Belgium, Holland or even one of the Scandinavian countries, then the chance it could be British is much higher.

unfortunately I do not have source the photograph, nothing write on the back.
Just an idea, the phone number on the wall is not a french phone number years 30/40.
regarding the logo on the grill i also Thought has Bedford, but which model ? not WT for me.

not easy this vehicle. The bumper looks more like Bedford but the engine bonnet more like Morris. I have two links with Bedford and Morris types. You can use them for research.

For the moment, this is the best I can do and I am sorry the photo is so dark.

I am sticking to a Bedford, likely a WT but I am not positive.

What I see is identical bumpers, identical fender/mudguard design, grille shape and the grille badge shape and the radiator cap also match.

Another match is the main headlamp attachment to the side of the grille, a Bedford trademark. Then, we have a few problems.

The four slats in the sides of the motor hood seem a little different but it is hard to tell from the angle of Patrick's photo. The moulding down the side of the motor hood and the curve where it meets the windscreen matches almost perfectly. The hole for the manual starter handle and the rectangular surround is also found on some WT models, although not in Holger's photo.

I assume the last word on the side of the building is "Handel" which would work in Danish and Norwegian, and both countries imported a fair number of Bedford and other British vehicles. I am not sure if the word is also used in German or Flemish.

In any case, the cab is typical of those found in all three Scandinavian countries, Finland and the Low countries. In that case, the cab door mouldings and the windscreen do not match the factory built Bedford cabs and I have to accept that they just built it that way.

As Holger says, this one is not easy.

Sorry to change the subject... but can anyone identify this Soviet armoured car? I've gone through my sources and cannot find a BA-series car that matches perfectly.

Here's a photo from www.autogallery.org.ru/gal.htm showing armoured cars that are very similar to the one in your photo. They were built on the GAZ-AAA 3-axel chassis. I lightened your photo to show more details.

your soviet armoured car is a BA-27, this armoured car is produced 1928-1931.

The Soviet armoured Car is the second version of the BA 27, this is on a Ford-Timken chassis, the original version, as pictured by sPak was on the Ford AA chassis. Alan

unidintified car and uniform.

Some one got an idea about wich uniform this is and what type of car the man is standing to. I have no idea when the picture is taken, just printed on agfa lupex paper.
