Wow we have some real historians posting & defending their choice of reality. I'm not a fan of either show but if I had to choose one over the other I'll go for the planted coin. The history of the island & the legend is far more watchable.

These shows are all the same on the History Channel . They will never find Hitler, buried treasure on Oak Island, Snake Island, or any island, nor will they ever turn up any ghosts or Bigfoot. I really don't know how these shows get funded.Comment

Advertising dollars pure and simple and the Finding Hitler show was renewed for the current season, Mountain men, axmen, swamp people, there is a core audience for these shows pure and simple. Think 'Duck Dynasty' here, most of this is unwatchable IMO but yet all of it is doing well. Also people watch wrestling and Nascar racing too...there is your current History Channel audience. Guys i watched Savage Lands about Big cats in Africa.
Leopards, Lions other Animals.
I think you guys should check it out. They tell a story like a film.
Is quite brutal to watch some bits. But best Big cat program i've seen.Comment

Watched part 1 because of this thread.
Seems there convinced Hitler Did escape lots of guys on the program really looking into it.
Is not a bad program to watch.
But this is the history channel just entertainment.

You like the locations, caves, bunkers, old people testimonies, and that's great. I find some of that interesting, but that should be a different show. Titles like "Nazi escape routes after WW2" , "Nazi safe houses in Spain and South America" , "Investigating escape routes and safe house for Mengele and Eichmann".
But do not include Hitler in all that BS as this series does. There is not one piece of fact presented so far that even comes close to reality. Do not throw out garbage to try and make it believable to some.Comment
