WAAAAAAA HAHAHA! I was joking with a friend of mine about that too.
I should see it again, but I dont have a comlete outfit. I guess I'll just have to mix 'n match. How 'bout I put on a my bergmutze with an army zeltbahn tied around my neck like a cape, a standard t-shirt underneath, DAK shorts, and some brown US paratrooper boots? Just Kidding.Last edited by pvluger; 12-28-2008, 07:01 PM.

I hate yo be "that guy" but I really thought this movie was f#@*ing awful! Tom Cruise can act, I will give him that(see Magnolia) but he was laughable in this! Take for example the scene where he is interviewing for a new adjutant. When the leutnant enters the spins around in his swivel chair in such a Dr. Evil fashion almost the entire theater started laughing. The writing/dialogue was so heavy-handed and overly dramatic it started to seem like satire. They crammed Christianity down your throat (focusing on his crucifix every five minutes, the meeting in the church. . . .) The ridiculous Sodom and Gomorra speech. The accents were rather annoying, but that alone is not enough to detract from the movie, despite Tom's terrible pronunciation of German names and words. They overdid the whole "shallow, vain, evil empire" thing. The scene on the Berghof where Hitler, Himmler, Speer, Goering, Keitel and Goebbels(none of whom looked even remotely like who they were supposed to portray) are all huddled, snickering sinisterly struck me as utterly ridiculous! When the commander of the reserve army is summoned he is upset that his swimming session was interrupted, the second time he is in the middle of a haircut. "In Greece you would have been killed for this" Come on! Nazis are bad, we get it! It was just tiring.
For the most part, the uniforms were done pretty well with the exception of one thing, the breast eagles. They all seemed to be poorly sewn onto the uniforms with a bunch of puckering and an angle parallel to the upper pocket. They also seemed rather small with a blown up swaz. Just strange that they would go through, what seemed to be rather extensive lengths to get uniforms right yet overlook such an obvious thing.
Sorry to rant, just my worthless $.02!
Cheers!

Lucky
I am just happy to have a WW2 Movie that does not put Germans in Black Uniforms with reversed Swastikas and acting like the Keystone Cops.
The Movie entertained and I liked the Uniforms just fine for a Movie.
Can you believe they made a Movie with Germans in Nazi Uniforms and they were not evil baby killers? A step towards objectivity?
