Don't we all? Yet it seems that in your world it is 2 and 2 is 5.

I owe you an apology though as I accused you of being banned member bnz42 of course it is bnz.42. Terribly sorry.

    Cheers

You make personal attacks only because you are out of any arguments obviously you don't know what you are talking about

IMO Lorenzo sold it in good faith that this cap was original. Back then everyone thought it would be original.

The past coming back to haunt !

happens a lot in the real world and in this case,

These (I call them the fakers friend) are the worst part of this hobby. OK maybe not worst, but definitely most annoying. J
There comes a point in Life, for all us collectors nowaday's, Jacques - when one finally comprehends the reality of the current situation . . . and no one can blame you for feeling this way - you are not alone. Sometimes I feel like one can continue to collect on the "consensus" basis - and that is all good and fine, so long as you are in agreement with the current "consensus" . . . and then there is that moment when you realize - when the pin drops - and you do not agree with the "consensus" . . . how much fun can one really get out of all of this? We all know by now, there is certainly a lot of junk out there . . .

                    Bottom line here .........

Now you all know Lorenzo is a faker .....scam artist.

Props to Fritz 100% for helping this faker be known.

When I returned to collecting after 20 years away with an improved financial situation I thought long and hard about coming back to collecting SS insignia which was always my main area of interest but at my age (51 now) I always felt that I owe it to our girls to ensure that as I am merely a temporary custodian of these 'treasures' I would see to it that they would always be able to cash in my collection when the time comes OR I would be able to if times became tough again. With the dramatic improvement in the fakery of SS items and the way often there is no broad consensus I chose to collect German ribbon awards instead ... something which seems to be more generally black and white where the fakes are concerned.

There are people here who do the collecting world no service at all by attempting to pass off fakes as 'locally produced variants' or by their constant muddying of the waters and fudging of the line between real and fake for whatever motive. I have no dog in this fight but I'm old enough and smart enough to see when people have a motive for their defence of an item, the louder the protest the clearer it becomes.

                      Ian.

                        Ian.

                        Ian,

Questioning something will expose it for what it is.

Truth will show itself to be truth.
Error will show itself to be error.

Either way, we are better off as a result of those who question, regardless of how important, expert or untouchable the ones being questioned are.

That’s what questioning, research, balanced debate and reporting of findings pushes us toward…the answers. It helps us have a better understanding of the way things are. It doesn’t change reality, it just illuminates it and shows it for what it is,

                        Chris

Chris, I have no problem with questioning, as long as the individual asking the questions are doing it for the right reasons, with an open mind, able to to be persuaded by the facts and come to a conclusion other than his own. There are quite a few on the forum that does that and that is what makes the WAF a great tool and them great contributors. J
