everything Bwanek1 said is right on.
This is a good trap for sure.
David Patrick talks in such strong terms but obviously does not know what he is looking at.

While you have not shown photos of the whole cap (such as the reinforcing on the flaps) I can, without any doubt, say yes the insignia and the way it is sewn to the cap is correct. The straight machine stitch is the way I like to see traps sewn on as a preference.

Here is a shot of the only SS Panzer M43 cap I have held onto with the trap insignia as a comparison.

Tony, thanks for your comments + picture. After looking your picture carefully I notice your eagle + skull are different in design from the one I posted including the ones from Gary Wood. If this acceptable to find more than two styles??

This is a never ending learning process

There are at least two different types of Bevo Panzer trapezoids (I'm not including the Pirate trap which was not Bevo). I cannot recall if the third Bevo type was made in the Panzer style off the top of my head.

However, your cap has an original type and it is sewn on correctly.

Maybe it's time for a thread on these to show the originals.

The BeVo traps came in four gereral styles, two with a double row of teeth and two with a single row of teeth. Each of the single row of teeth styles had a couple subtle style variations of its own, not including color variations. I did a quick search and found a couple threads that were already started on the topic, though neither is a complete reference with photos of every style and color variation:

Here are some pics as requested................i think other than locating the Fritz who made it we will not get any more proof it is 100% original

                        Thanks

Looks like a nice original cap.

Has anyone stumbled upon a period photo of an SS panzerman wearing one of these yet? I think we've seen photos of grey/green caps with this style of trap on the forum before but no black ones as yet.
