    David,

I am baffled by your comments. You think the skull is bad, but the eagle good on the exact same piece of insignia?! How do you suggest that could be?

That trap is perfectly correct and original, by the way...original to that cap may be another story, but I will leave that to others.

Yes sorry, I phrased it somewhat badly. What I meant to say was that although undoubtedly fake too, nevertheless the eagle is not so obviously fake/bad as the totenkopf. Of course it would be nonsesne to suggest that one is real and the other fake on the same piece of cloth. I am 100% suspicious of the TK which places an obvious question mark on the adler also. QED. The insignia are way too fresh for the piece as well. The skull is undoubtedly bad in my humble opinion.

That's just my opinion for what it's worth, take it or leave it.

For an experts opinion .........i have asked Robin L to add his comment...always best on something like this to ask someone who is "validated" on knowing the subject.

          David,

I mean no disrespect, but I suggest that you do some research before you make a statement regarding authenticity, instead of offering an opinion based on no real knowledge of the subject. Furthermore, you state that opinion--which is little more than a guess--with conviction, as if you were an authority. You use words like "obvious" and "undoubtedly" in condemning this piece of insignia as if you are well familiar with this style of trapezoid, which you clearly are not. If you knew what you were talking about, you would recognize that this trapezoid is obviously and undoubtedly original. This style is well documented. There are some fairly good reproductions of this type, but this is not one of them; this is the real deal. No question.

David - what exactly are you basing your opinion on???? Please inform me as I am eager to hear it.

There is absolutely no question - that trapezoid insignia is authentic.

The one on the cap shown on the bottom of this composit displays the manner of application and type of stitching I like to see!
