RE: Authenticity Of NSDAP Party Badge (M1/72)

            Hi there,

i'm emailing all you collectors regarding a NSDAP Party Badge that i acquired from an Ebaye seller. I suspect that its an original piece but im open to any comments from you guys whether if it IS really is an authentic piece and the current market price for it. I bought it for US$40. Really appreciate for any help given. The statistic on this badge is that:-

            1)Pre-1945 government party pin
2)An inch in diameter - the back is not flat but concave.
3)There is a small wartime repair to the white enamel
4)The clasp is in working order, and it attached to the base with a fine metal base plate
5)The back has a slight bronzed look to it, and the three lettered licenced product logo is present
6)The maker mark of M1/72 is quite clear. The M1 represents a metal pin, and the 72 is for the firm of Franz Lipp of Pforzheim.

The reason that i suspect it to be original are:-
1)The back has a slight bronzed look to it, and the three lettered licenced product logo is present (note: the Z has a line throught it...a good thing)
2)The front has fine translucent red & all lettering is correct...including "O" that are perfectly round...another good sign!

Well any comment guys???Market value????See the pics below.

Yes your badge does look like a good one the only thing you got wrong is the LDO code 72 is for the firm of Franz Lipp of Pforzheim where as your RZM code M1/72 is for the firm of Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart. these are two completely different lists. I also have to add that it looks like the attachment pin may have been replaced at one time. Other then that you did good. I will add your's to the list on page 8.

                NSDAP membership badge

Hi, here is a membership badge I had for awhile. It is marked ges gesch and a faint 75. The white enamel has faint cracks but does not show up on the pic due to the flash from the camera. What is your opinion on this one? Thanks, DEL

I don't like this one...the O and the spacing between some of the letters like the i between the t and the s of socialistische...

Well, I sure hope that you are not thinking of becoming an official Royal photographer or that you are not going to be the only photographer of the Bush campaign........I am trying to break it to you gently......not the best photos ever, are they? Still looking dodgy to me.

I felt in a silly mood, I hope you did not take it the wrong way. I am no expert by far...look at some of my shots . I guess "all you need" is a digital camera with macro setting and good ambient daylight...or a scanner. Maybe you can borrow a freind's?
