A good move, Knight! I'm sure you will enjoy it and benefit from it as a major reference work for years to come.

I think so! Do you have any of his other books?

Yes, as far as I know, I have all of Jim Yannes' books on this subject, all produced by his current publisher, Trafford Publishing:

"Collectible Spoons of the 3rd Reich," 2009
"A Guide to 3rd Reich Cutlery, its Monograms, Logos, and Maker Marks," 2010
"The Collector's Guide to 3rd Reich Tableware," 2011, and
"The Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tableware," 2013

In general, each new edition expanded upon the previous edition, so most of the vast store of information which Jim has amassed is to be found in his "Encyclopedia."

According to his first book on spoons, from 2009, he had previously published two books on apparently-unrelated subjects.

I have developed a nice correspondence with Jim over the past few years; it would be great fun to sit and chat with him for hours over a few drinks! he is currently working on a new book on the subject of the German National Railroad, with highlights on memorabilia; I look forward to adding that one to my library when it's published next year.

          Cheers, mate,

          Br. James

                    Hi Erich,

Nice collection, I think it will certainly continue following pieces.

I think the AH pieces are drying up a bit. You don't see them for sale as much as you used to. At a local show yesterday I saw some Goring and von Ribbentrop pieces which weren't generating much interest. So based on demand I think the AH pieces are the #1 TR silver pieces to collect.

Fresh Reichs Chancellary Hoard From Veterans Family

Fresh Reichs Chancellary Hoard From Veterans Family. Its interesting how RK & AH items turn up ..It seems to be in a hoard at times . I guess if you had the chance to get this stuff back at the wars end and you found a group you would send all you could back as well .. Thought I would share these pictures of this RK group .. See also a picture of the lucky veteran that brought it all back at the wars end . Brent
