Not all AH silverware prices are "up" either. A AH champagne bucket has sat unsold on a dealer's website for years at $5500, while a identical one sold at a recent auction for only $3000. Most people seem to want a piece or two of the most common knives, forks and spoons, which has driven those prices up.

Thanks to Bill for adding his silverware experience here! I have never owned an asparagus server -- and I have collected period Stieff sterling for many years. Brent's response is perhaps more true than even he knows: since the AH Informal Service was apparently far more limited in both its production and its location(s), given that only about one-third of the AH monogrammed services were produced in the Informal Pattern as compared with the much larger production of the Formal Pattern, an esoteric utensil such as an asparagus server may well only have been ordered and created by Bruckmann once or perhaps twice?! This piece may be even rarer than any of us now know!
