Herr Steinmeyer is not a RK Veteran. But still a true combat veteran who is a very nice man.
I wrote to him about two years ago and he sent me a reply with a very nice portrait of him.

My question started from that site.
Same name, surname and year of birth of the RK-Träger,but without being registered it's impossible to have more detailed informations.

                        Stolen / withheld awards

                        Gentlemen,
You might be surprised, but even German Army Commanders
like LTC Peters, former comander of FlaRgt 2 Kassel, now running a "war museum" happened to be one of these dubious individuals.
Pretending that he will use "donations" for "his" museum..
he never returned them.... sometimes even fakes !!
I myself have been cheated by this questionable person....
                        he still owes me
                        EK I cased (mint)
                        "Sieg der Kuehnsten" (Kreta 1941)
Shame on these people..forget their possible rank.... trash !!
                        Best regards
                        Wolf

Sorry to hear about your loss to this person.
Perhaps he will read about this and will do
                              the right thing?
