    Oscar,

Thanks for providing those additional photos which in fact verify the soldier as a paratrooper. My photo catches the same but slightly different event. Very Interesting! I gather they used the Dutch soldiers to carry the wounded Paratrooper which may be the reason the writer misinterpreted the wounded soldier on the stretcher as a Dutch soldier. Bill

Good research Oscar! I was convinced Bill and Ben were correct because of one single detail, which I could see after Bill posted the close up.
      Excellent historical photos Bill.

        Must Be A German Fallschirmjaeger

I reckon W petz is right he has para jump boots on,dutch didnt wear them did they, and the explanation for the dutch helmet if thats what it is,he was one of the Fallschirmjaeger troops in the early days of the attack who wore disguises like dutch uniforms, civilians?and even said nuns,or was this the brandenburger troops who i know did this thing,as reconasince missions, and to help disrupt enemy lines. So not 100% shure on the FJ role, but they must have did this too, or they gave a dutch soldier german boots and maybe helmet?.

              wounded FJ

Just looked at the photo of the wounded FJ at Tweede Tol. That's on the Isle of Dordrecht, a few miles from where I live. Check out www.dordtopenstad.nl for more of these FJ-photo's.

                  Giday everyone,

Photographs Nos 184 and 185 are part of a large collection of photographs that belonged to a Fallschirmjäger who happened to also be a keen photographer. The Fallschirmjäger was a member of the 10th Kompanie of Fallschirmjäger Regiment 12. Most likely both photographs were taken in Italy.

                  Best wishes,

                  Ian

I just received some new FJ photos in the mail today. Unfortunately I'm having software problems therefore my scanner & printer are not working but all is not lost I took some digital pics and loaded them into my computer. I'm able to share them but the digital photo quality is not as good as the originals. - Bill
