He will probably deny they are the same.

His South Staffordshire shoulder titles seem original to some bidders, I wonder why the original wearer also had parachute wings on that moth eaten blouse.

            A healthy price for a MkI :

BTW, if the buyer is reading this - the net is a WW2 net. I spoke to Marcus Cotton about it and he confirmed it as a lesser-known British variant.

Could be, Scott. I know the net has rust bleeding through. A nice helmet !

I did actually question the seller of this 'unmessed with' blouse and the matching wing. Here is the reply I received through eBay:

"In answer to your question the wings were only tacked onto the BD when i got it, i took them off to photograph them and see what interest they get (as i have another pair which i was thinking off listing), the wings have been replaced onto the BD by myself using original wartime thread and as you have probably noticed i have taken off the listing of the wings, i am not trying to make profit as i bought the BD for £275 so i dont think i am making any profit on the said item, do you"

For me, it calls into question all of his other items.

So he had them re-attached and he lied in the item description. I hope the winner is following this thread.

I'm sure this BD is the same one that was sold last year by another seller, and it was at the time 100%. It has since been listed with RA Air OP wings and now again with the original wings back on. As far as I know it is all original but has now been messed around with a little too much.

Both auction item numbers are invalid, does that mean the seller has been sinbinned by ebay?

I suspect that this sellar is in fact David Choules, he has been using a number of ebay IDs recently and upsetting a number of members by bidding and refusing to pay for the items. I think at last ebay are on his case !!!!!

And now both blouse and wings are available again in two seperate auctions.

I was watching this early fibre rim and considered bidding. But the price went through the roof in my view. Anyway ...

Looks like a nice one with provenance, but heavily pitted and damaged by bad postwar storage IMO.
What are your considerations, dear forum?

                              Regards,

Looked good from what I could see.

                                Cheers, Ade.
