Just a quick note to say that beware of this seller, chatham18, he sells alot of repro special forces/airborne cloth. He even makes me look good They are clever because they don't describe it as original, only "WW2".

Here is taster of one of their past auctions:

I find it amazing that people believe all this stuff. But hey, collecting is a learning process. And a steep one at that!

I wonder how he parachuted into Arnhem wearing this Smock when it is 1945 dated?

            Oh no! I didn't realise Market-Garden didn't take place until Sept. 1945!!

              What about this one.

              http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true

Did`nt like the guys feedback for starters. If you look at the helmet closely, it appears to have damage to the shell (those cracks remind me of another para helmet I saw with very similiar damage recently somewhere???). The damage is not mentioned in the description? Neither is any mention of a date in the liner. Looks good at first glance but something smells.

Just looking at another of his auctions (for a german para helmet), that looks dodgy.

                            Hello Simon,
I' just joined the forum, some of you will know me. I'm a 30-ish collector of WW2 British airborne militaria.
About this smock with buttoned collar, I know I'm a wee bit late with my comments but it is from Belgium and it's postwar. It has identical zipper and brass poppers. The only differences are the buttoned collar (either3 or 5 batchelor buttons), and possibly a poor quality of paint as they are usually very fainted. The label should read ABL, typical for Belgium gear, but that's mostly faded too.
I had one years ago. Bet if I listed it on eBay it would selll with a very nice profit!
                            Cheers, Luc
