Was watching AMC the other night and almost fell out of my chair when my
very own movie prop flag came on the screen. It showed up in the WW2 1943
Hollywood movie "They Came To Blow Up America", in which an FBI Agent takes
a Nazi Spy's idenity and joins saboteurs bound for the East Coast of the USA.
Movie has Sig Ruman (later Sgt in Stalag-17) and John Banner (later Sgt in
Hogan's Heros). Flag was used in Nazi Spy Bomb School and Gestapo HQ office
as shown below. So war movies with flags in them are my favorite.

            Other War Movies...

I like this thread..Lots of great movies chosen..For me some of the movies made just after WW2 have a great feel..They Were Expendable (1945), and Battleground (1949)..Objective Burma (1945), while somewhat controversial at the time, showed that as the war was ending..such movies were going to become more gritty and taunt...As a period piece and for actor cameos, I liked Bataan (1943); but it is dated...Air Force (1943) is another period piece which I love to watch, and although many of the themes are dated, some of the aerial sequences are still nice.

Kirk I had heard great feedback about this flick. I rented it about 6 or so months back and it was more of a let down to me. I personally didn't think it was as great as everyone had said, and I WANTED to like it.

Someone long ago mentioned 12 O'Clock High, I had to buy that on DVD for a Leadership class I took. It was well worth it. Great flick.

Band of Brothers isn't a movie but man, I just can't see how that can't be mentioned as Herrzark did. That series is amazing.

When I initially voted on this thread, way back in the day, I voted for Stalingrad. While that is one of my favorites, I think the best WWII ever made is, without a doubt, Band of Brothers. Saving Private Ryan, Cross of Iron, Der Untergang, and Das Boot are also in my Top Ten.

He kept coming back with all kind of ss booty. Anyone know the name of that episode.
