Thought I'd share this one from the Sepp Dietrich estate.

I hope you and Richard can come by our house tomorrow night and see the whole photo lot. The majority for my new book on Sepp logically...all unpublished premier stuff of course directly from the family in Germany

Can anyone help ID this Sturmbannführer? Must be an individual from Dietrich's staff, no doubt.

Timeframe of the photo: July/ August 1941 at Rollbahn Nord.

                    Thanks,
                    Markus

Thank you for your kind comments gentlemen.

Yes, I think "dedication" is the keyword, since with the exception of the "Wisch"-group (originally bought from the family by a dealer) 70% of my stuff comes from either the vets directly, or their families or very dedicated pickers. It's certainly no collection I could have gathered buying from dealers' websites.

Let's see what the future holds....

For the time being I'm trying to gather as much mtrl as possible for the new book on Sepp Dietrich which is coming along very nicely...

                              Cheers,
                              Markus

                                Sonderbefehl !

Just stumbled over this one - A recent addition. Hectographic special order.

                                "Sonderbefehl" - "Special Order"

The Reichsführer-SS has promoted as of July 1, 1943:

                                To the Rank of SS-Oberführer:

                                SS-Standartenführer Fritz Witt
                                SS-Standartenführer Theodor Wisch

                                SS-Obergruppenführer und
                                General der Waffen-SS

                                (signed Dietrich)

                                Unquote

I wish I would have had this one already at the time I did the book. It would have worked perfectly with the "Sonderbefehl" which is pictured on page 61, giving Wisch command of the LSSAH the same day.

This "Sonderbefehl" pictured here was the last formal step before making Theodor Wisch and Fritz Witt commanders of the "Leibstandarte" and "Hitlerjugend" divisions.

A rare document and a special catch. Special thanks to one forum member. Enjoy.
