I realize this is a militaria forum and I can't just close the year with some space memorabilia...

So here still items from the estate of the "Ober" ....Sepp Dietrich...

Saludos from the Rivera Maya and Feliz Año Nuevo 2015!

      A selection of LAH cyphers

A few shoulder straps and boards which found their way into the collection during 2014. I never cared too much for insignia as such, but found these to be neat.

The pieces include the first model rounded "LAH" metallic cypher and strap, a pair of Oscha boards from a man and dear friend who served on the "Ober's" staff and a pair of field worn shoulderboards to diamonds winner Oberst-Gruppenführer und Panzergeneraloberst der Waffen-SS Josef "Sepp" Dietrich, commander of the 6.SS-Panzerarmee.

All the best for 2015. Above all love, fun, enjoyment and lots of health!

      Markus

ps: I am not looking for opinions on the pieces. Thank you.

              @ Eddie
Thanks Eddie. I'm an admirer of your breast-star collection. I enjoy seeing it grow. It's so much "fresher" than the same-ol' same-ol' TR stuff all the time..!

              @ Jaime:
If you like Sepp memorabilia you and Mike should definitely come over to the house on Friday.

              Cheers!

                  Walter "Ohm" Krüger

Took this one out the other day for some daylight photos.

One of my recent "escapes" into the Wehrmacht-Heer collecting field.

I've always had a soft spot for Heer Generals' uniforms and really liked this one when I saw it. One of the finest made tunics I ever handled with all period applied original cellon insignia. I loved the fact that researching the piece, I found out that the tailor had his shop right in front of the garrison's main entrance where Krüger was serving at the time.

Here a few details of the officer:

                  Walter "Papa" Krüger
Born: March 23, 1892 in Zeitz
                  Died: July 11, 1973 in Baden-Baden

Promotion to "General der Panzertruppe," February 01, 1944.

                  February 15, 1940: Kommandeur 1.Schützen-Brigade.
                  January 12, 1942: Kommandeur 1.Panzerdivision.
February 01, 1944: Kommandierender General LVIII. (Reserve) Panzerkorps.
April 10, 1945: Kommandierender General of the IV.Armeekorps and Kommandeur Wehrkreis IV, Dresden.

                  Knight's Cross: July 15, 1941
Oakleaves to the Knight's Cross: January 24, 1944
German Cross in Gold: August 27, 1942

                  Cheers,
                  Markus

                        Thanks Eddie and Sepp.

I pulled Krüger's personnel file. A really impressive track record I can tell you.

Sepp - Thanks for posting that additional photo of him.

Physically a really slim fellow and it shows in the size/cut of the tunic.

                        Cheers,
                        Markus

Had a free minute and thought I'd add some close-ups of the insignia.
