    1. Kompanie "LSSAH"

I found these on the web one day. Couldn't resist to post them.

Standing behind A.H. is Teddy Wisch with men of his 1. Kompanie LAH.

Furthermore in these shots: Heinrich Himmler and Karl Wolff.

    Cheers,
    Markus

        New additions

I just returned from Germany gathering literally kilos (!) of new material for a future book project on the "LAH". It was so much stuff, that I was even held up by airport security at Frankfurt!

Especially TR medals, insignia, documents and photo albums caused great sensation amongs the security personnel, as you can imagine.... (last time this happened to me was in Hamburg...)

But I also carried some new, early medals for my side collection of the Federal Republic of Germany. Something I enjoy collecting, when I just get too fed up sometimes with the TR topic....

            Ober-sepp

Some further additions to the Sepp Dietrich / "Leibstandarte" collection...

The Seppl autograph is one of the best I've ever seen on an early Hoffmann card dated 1938 including a longer dedication on the reverse of the card, along with other signatures such as Jürgen Wagner!

Thank you Greg. I appreciate the kind comment!

I was looking through my collection drawers this morning and all the sudden held this one in hands from the old Wilhelm Mohnke ( "...I will always stay a Brigadeführer!...") estate clean-out...

                Nothing much, but....

                  Hello Markus.

His book is translated into Spanish.

                  Regards.

Markus, found this Soldbuch on the net. Is this the one of Teddy Wisch?

                    Regards!

Yes, that's Wisch's second issue Soldbuch. Thanks for posting.

The four-leaf clover he used to carry in this Soldbuch survived the war as well.

From the stamp underneath the "Swords"-entry you can see that they were
awarded to him at the SS-Lazarett Hohenlychen.

More one can read in my book on him of course....

                          Kursk

SPWs and Tigers assemble during the Kursk offensive.

One of my favorite candit shots taken from Jochen Peiper's command SPW.

That is a nice candid photo Markus, I wonder what was going through his mind?

                                Jaime & Lennart

My buddy Jaime (aka "Spanish Freiwillige") dropped by tonight after work to discuss "Pith Helmets" with our son Lennart....

I was a mere by-stander and had nothing to add while the two were getting deeply into details about makers and insignias...
