Mike some very pretty toys, was that a pink collar patch luft general staff officers I saw in the background? Here is a picture of the only army jacket I have, when I saw it I just fell in love and had to have it, this is also in mint condition without a scratch.

        Hi Mike,

Glad to see your back collecting again
Very nice quality pick-ups, and the waffenrock collection is growing! I'm sure your happy that some of previous Luftwaffe items are in your possession. Congrats!

        Regards,

            Mike,

The Erel LW visor is stunning, and a large size too!

              Here and there ...

One of the things I have always liked about collecting is sort of "putting things together" ....

I was given this NSFK badge for a model airplane competition in Frankfurt in 1938 by its original owner. At the time, my friend Ernst (from Munchen) was 15 years old and competed in this event. He later went on to become a Luftwaffe pilot flying JU-88's and the ME-262. I also have his Glider "C" badge with certificate (matching numbers).

I finally found a postcard that went with this competition. In beautiful, mint condition -- provided by a good friend of mine who actually uncovered it.

              Don't they look well together?

              Mike

Terrific grouping, Mike--the postcard really brings it all together (and I believe the PC is drawn by the artist "Anton" who also did the W-SS recruiting posters.

                    C badge

My friend Ernst's C Badge and numbered (matching to the badge) certificate.

I have never seen a matching glider badge with certificate before.

Bad photo -- early generation camera.

                          Recent additions ..

I am on a bit of a "waffenrock" craze.

These three added to the collection recently. Plus, the NCO sword and portrait of a young soldier in parade dress.

                            The cavalry ....

A shot of the cavalry NCO -- a very early waffenrock with beautiful toning to the silvered tress.

                              Another shot ...

Here is another shot of my EREL "Privat" grade Luftwaffe visor. It is mint, unissued and still has the tissue inside as I may have said before.

My purpose in running another photo here is a testimonial to Skipper Greenwade's hat stands that have been discussed elsewhere on the forum. They are perfect for hat display and preservation, as they are not a "head" but rather an adjustable form that can be tighted up against the sweatband -- a natural method.

Mike-- would you show the cast iron pilot badge and tell us more about it?
