      Owen,

What happened? I thought you were going to come to my tables and tell me why my "K" tab was fake.

I was really looking forward to meeting you and learning something.

      Regards!

      Bob

Well you sold the Tab to Martin before I got to you.
This has nothing to do with that at all.

I dare say karma will visit him in the form of customers avoiding his business!

I have discovered that the most palatable food item there is the icecream in a waffle cone. The rest of the stuff strikes me as disgusting so I avoid it as well.

I as well as many of my friends used to frequent the flea markets in Germany and buy stuff dirt cheap, knowing full well what the items were actually worth. I guess there are tons of theifs in this hobby.

Buying from a dealer at a low price and buying from a family member table helper at an obviously misquoted price is two different things in my book.

And yes I believe in God, Jesus, Santa, Karma and the Force. I believe that this is a just a hobby and even as a business does not need to be so cut throat and mercenary to border on theft. It's all just "stuff". I believe character is doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

I hope the tunic turns out to be haunted for the new owner.

I'll ask Spencer if I can post the pics.

If you don't trust the people who work for you don't allow them to represent you.

True, but everyone makes mistakes, even people you trust.
If a car dealership ran an ad by mistake that said $35.000 instead of $35,000 would they sell the cars for $35?

I guess that is the difference between some of us. If I find a wallet full of money I return it. (Happened at the SoS) Some of you take the money and still return the wallet. Some of you take the money and leave the wallet. Owen throws away the money and turns the wallet into a fashionable camo leather belt that is prominently featured in a movie and spawns a line of knock-offs.

Its the helper i feel sorry for, they have to carry a $16k guilt trip with them for a long, long time. That buyer is a complete Ahole. Not just for not returning it,but then his pathetic story of selling it outside, just rubbing it in the dealers face.

This happens in business all the time. But as I under stand it, if the seller advertised it for $1800 by mistake and changed the price to $18,000 when the buyer showed an interest in it, then the laws on the sellers side. However when the seller and buyer agreed to the price, they entered into a contract and the laws probably on the buyers side.

                              http://smallbusiness.chron.com/compa...ake-73117.html

Dealers advertise items at above market value all the time and while we collectors whine we usually don't imply they are crooks. But when they advertise at a ridiculously low price, enter into a contract and sell it, the buyer is a low life. In the first case the seller can walk away. In the second case the seller could have changed the price right up to the time cash was exchanged.

I've baby sat many a dealers booth as they went away to do something else. They Always let me know if I was allowed to conduct business in their name. Jim

Let's clarify something. According to the information provided here, Spencer lost $8200 out of pocket. $10,000 cost less $1800 received from John Suprin, who in turn has apparently lost a great deal more.

It is speculation IMO to calculate the loss of any potential sale. And given the weather over the end of the week, I find it hard to believe that anyone was dealing out of their trunk on the parking lot. But that is my opinion which has little value.
