His M43 cap he claims in this thread
http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...11467&page=230
Post 3443, isn't this the same cap? Whose cap was it then?
Note the small greyish line about one inch away from the button holes on the lower part of the flap, also that the top button hole appears shorter in both than the bottom button hole. Same cap I would guess likely the same wrapper, too.

Looking at it again I think the wrapper is the same as the one to the left (TK) n bnz.42's post. Compare the shoulder straps.
Cheers
Edit: The straps are the same, the wrapper is not the TK wrapper. Likely the straps were swaped somewhere down the road. Likely the straps of the left one were put onto the right one and vice versa. Pic posted by "Disco Partisan" doesn not show enough of the actual wrapper.Last edited by Fritz; 04-22-2016, 02:31 PM.

I have been following this thread with great interest - and the earlier thread that got Lorenzo booted from the forum.
I have a cover that I got from Lorenzo in a trade nearly ten years ago.
Back then no one questioned these covers. On the contrary - they were praised. Now the situation has changed. Im sure there are many others taking a bite of the sour apple like me.
I usually say that when a collector steps out of his field, the water is quite deep. Most of us knows about the huge ammount of work and effort it takes to master an area - with that said there are still new things to learn. However thats not all. Sometimes the maps are completely redefined - which means the science and knowledge has come to a new level.

Funny how Disco, who can identify artificial ageing from just looking at a photo, cannot tell that the eagle on this cap is fresh yet the skull is worn. Curious!
