    I can provide some insight as to Ribbentrop's relationship with the SS. Ribbentrop was for the most part, a social climber and opportunist. A "pretty boy" from a "nice" family, who was, for all of his social-aspirations, looked down upon by most of the Nazi brass. He was known as a dolt, though his success in gaining Hitler's love until the last hours, casts doubt upon that. His IQ was 128, right in the middle of that of the rest of the Nuremberg crowd.

    Himmler's party number was in the 1.1 millions, but his SS number was in the 60,000s, having been elevated to the rank of Standartenfuhrer by Himmler (yes, it was honorary). in 1933. Ribbentrop wore his SS uniforms proudly (as he did his SS sword, his ring, etc), until around 1939, soon after Germany invaded Poland. I think it was about 1941 that he had a falling out with Himmler over some foreign policy, and ceased to wear his SS uniforms, choosing exclusively the uniforms of the Diplomatic Corps. He was certainly no Waffen SS combat commander, which is why this uniform is a 4 pocket SS tunic.

    For me personally, this tunic is everything I ever wanted in an SS tunic. Can't get a higher rank (other than Himmler of course, or a 3-pip), can't find a finer tailor than Holters, can't get better name recognition. And that staff band. Spend 30 seconds looking at it under a glass, and you will NEVER think twice about judging a fake one. It's extraordinary. I would however, rather have Sepp Dietrich's tunic, truth be told

        First off all why is everyone saying this is a Waffen SS tunic?Its not.Its WARTIME ALLGEMEINE SS TUNIC. It Just because its fieldgrey doesnt mean its Waffen SS.has A-SS boards,its A-SS cut ,has the lightgrey cufftitle not worn by any Waffen SS men,that cuff is strictly for A-SS leaders,and is NEVER in combination with Waffen boards{just look at Himmlers}
        Plenty of fieldgrey Wartime A-SS tunics,they are just not so prevelant among lower ranks in photos as the allgemeine SS was diminished in wartime.Thats way one never thinks wartime grey tunics are allgemeine,its only common in photos among top ranks or generals..Also A-SS DID wear eagles many times,its elementary to say they didnt ..MANY pics of this.This is a wartime Allgemeine SS generals tunic,the book is mislabeled.Look at the insignia.Therfore saying this has no Waffen SS relations is ludicrous,why would it?Its not a Waffen tunic!Shoulderboards say so right off.So actually even RARER among SS tunics are the fieldgrey Allgemeine type,even unamed !

              I've heard that inter-war Ribbentrop spent a brief time living in Winnipeg, Canada while working on behalf of his family wine business, and that the house he lived in is still there...can anyone tell me if this is just an urban legend? It kinda sounds like one...

                      Uh, for a Female Army Sgt. she has pretty nice ankles and an attractive saucy wry smile. I would do her, but not now as she is in a Nursing Home and that ain't my Bag, unless she has some of this stuff, Hey, I got my Price.

                            I am amused at people trying make negative comments about such a historical and 100% real uniform in excellent condition...I prefer Waffen SS over Allgemeine myself and combat over dress..but this is a serious piece of history and there is nothing negative to say about it ....

                                I have the black great coat from the 2nd Leibarzt (doctor) from AH.
                                Is made by Holters as well and I am awlays amazed about the cloth quality the coat was made from.
