Fantastic set Bob! There is also a red tab with the facis on it, but I don't think I've seen anybody own one.

Is it me, or your tab appears to be worn?

Here are some of my Italian SS on red with a elusive red board. This was also a Veteran pickup ,but no Lorili Skull.
The collar tabs may also be Flak and did not come with the eagle tab and board.
Along with the eagle, board, and chevron were a set of Red Officers tabs without pips. I will photo and show later.

Here are completely different tabs, eagle ,chevron and boards that I picked up . The set of NCO boards meet the construction and material of the Vet picked up piece shown on the previous thread. I actually spotted them on this WA-Forum ( after they drew no interest and some disdain because they were not conforming to German made boards ) The owner actually brought them to the Max Show were they again received a luke warm reception again.
After about 6 monthes of negotiations I was able to buy them from him.
Luce Film Studios archives show this type board in several close ups
and they apear to conform to the stills.

                  Dennis,

Very nice. I have never had the opportunity to handle any of the Italian shoulder boards. Thank you for posting a treat to my eyes.

Oh, I almost forgot, but managed to snap this at the bank, when I was returning other items to the valut.

Now there's one you don't see every day

What a great thread. Sadly, I don't have anything in my collection to contribute to this, but it is great to see all those that do sharing with the rest of us, so thanks!

                        Dennis,
I am curious, could you post the pics of the reverse of the italian boards when you have time. I am curious how differently these are manufactured than the german ones. Piping looks like normal rayon correct?

Hi Bob, can you tell me something more about this Italien cuff title? I have never seen an original example, never seen it in all pics (really many) or Luce videos or any veteran of Italian SS (met by me at least) never had it.
I'm not into cuff titles at all so, can tou tell more about costruction? Pure German construction? Is it, as I suppose, an unissued item like arm shield with fascio and collar tab with fascio too? Dachau made?
From what I can see from the pics, I do confirm the skull seems to be the Lorioli type. Would you be so kind to post a close up? It's an item I do not have in my collection, I have other "monkey head" style Italian made SS totenkopf but not Lorioli's one, so I'm very curious to see details!
                          Francesco

Does anyone have period photos of the skull that Bob owns, actually in wear?

I suspect this could be one.

                              Hello Francesco,

The Italien cuff title walked into my shop, in 1993, in Chicago. It was glued to a board with a Loreli eagle and a number of German awards. I had to buy out my partner's (in the shop) half of the eagle and title. I believe he bought a bedroom furniture set with the money.

The title is not German made. The only other I have seen was in Karl Wolff's personal belongings.

I attach a photo of the Lorioli skull. Now it is your turn to post a photo of your pattern. I do not have one of your types, in my collection.

                              Best regards,
                              Bob

The material is a fine zinc and is growing a little white zincpest, which I had cleanerd, from the reverse. The pins are a single piece bent over and soldered.
