Generaloberst Alfred Jodl's black wound badge, brought back from Nurenburg after being given to an American Officer.

It's now in the personal collection of Christopher Ailsby, credits to him.

Looks like someone cleaned the black off of it.

Having one of these in any condition w/provenance that is original, is a once in a lifetime deal....yet we have seen every year more sold on a regular basis , and in the last 14 years .....more than were ever produced.

If the dies exist , they better be careful how many they keep producing and offering (in fact someone should register all the badges somewhere and keep track of every one sold every time they change hands)...

IF they are still produced from the original dies...does anybody know what the die status was on this badge after these were awarded?

Were they destroyed or did they just disappear like the S&L RK dies ? There must still be one out there in some vets bring backs...wouldn't you think?

In this photo of the funeral ceremony of General der Infanterie Rudolf Schmundt, the Wound Badge can be seen on his tunic, below the Iron Cross.

And while in the hospital.. Hitler presenting him the award.

As said before earlier on this thread, this badge was sold by Hermann Historica last year.
