The silver badge has his name engraved on the reverse.
    That's a great information Ludwig.. I didn't know that.

Whatever book the photo in post #25 is from, it's showing a fake in the post-war S&L design (details in next post), so the "US collector" paid exactly the right amount.

Here's the US collector's badge compared with the Schmundt badge from an earlier post and then next to a post-war S&L product. Clearly it's the S&L design.

One of the few photos in color where it can be seen in wearing!

This time on the uniform of GFM Wilhelm Keitel

Sepp. I've seen that one and it's a fake just like many other awards that they displayed in the 1970's.

I agree, the obverse matches the post-war S&L badge and not the originals.

                  Best regards,

Another piece displayed in a German Museum: Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr, Dresden.

                        Not the best quality photo..

Unfortunately, that's another S&L post-war reproduction (easily seen in that photo), and the case is incorrect as well. That's the same privately-owned museum in Boston which has the fake U-Boat badge with diamonds.

                            Best regards,

The quality of the originals is extreme, wow!
