Pardon for my ignorance. Was the Hofbrauhaus building the original beer hall where the Putsch started? I need to get a real good book on the history of this all. Any proper books on this and the NSDAP? or should I be reading on the SA?

Yes, you do The 8/9 November putsch started at the Burgerbräu Keller.

Re. the Feldherrnhalle... even after 15+ visits it never looses its mystique... I always stop by for a visit whenever I am in Munich.

So what is this place now? A pub or a hotel?

I think i should revisit Munich again and join the local war tours. i think Erich mentioned taking a local tour. wonder how it went.

The last time i visited Munich the Third Reich Fever didnt hit me as yet.

The Burgerbräu Keller is long gone, and a plaque dedicated to Georg Elser is the only reminder of what once stood in this spot:

I'm reading a book called "Where Ghosts Walked" about Munich's role during the TR and it mentions that when US Troops entered Munich the citizens went to the FHH and used hammers on the Mahnmal to bring it down.

Here's a few photos that I took while in Munich last week. The first few are of the FHH which was being set up for a String Concert.
