On your latest photos, to start with the three vehicle one, I would say the following:

The top car I believe is an Opel, most likely an Olympia but could also be a Kadett. The middle car escapes me for the moment.
The bottom one is interesting and I spent about 30 minutes looking through all sorts of books and the best I can come up with is a Fiat Balilla of the middle 1930 period. It would help if you could remember the locale of the photo. If the photo was not taken in an area where Italian vehicles might have been seen, then that ID is probably not valid.

For the second photo, I will for the moment, defer to Hans Prisma. you are probably correct but I have grown very wary of trying to positively ID German vehicles where the photo is less than crystal clear. As you and I have posted, Germany commissioned quite a number of small series of specialist vehicles, especially Kubel vehicles, that were manufactured by several different companies. I am getting to that point, with so many of these really great photos appearing here, to be a bit careful in my choice of which photo represents which vehicle. I am happy with what I can positively ID and for the rest, I leave it to experts better than I.

Regarding your photo on #138, I cannot absolutely guarantee it but I believe what you have sent over is an umbau-wagen based on a Horch 830 BL chassis.

I have a few similar photos showing that vehicle converted to a small office vehcle, an ambulance and so forth. I further believe that the German firm Erdmann&Rossi carried out such umbau conversions. many on Horch ex-civilian chassis, My best "guess" is that your photo is just such a vehicle.

Hi Bill,

The photo of the three cars is part of an album which once belonged to a Hauptmann Gotz who did indeed serve in Italy. However, the complete photo (which I will post) looks like it was taken somewhere in Germany, possibly pre-war as he spent some time travelling around photographing various sites. Lots of photos of castles.

Yes, that makes things a bit clearer. I also had wondered if it were not a prewar photo as all the cars seemed to have civilian registration plates.

Kind of makes the ID question both harder and easier. Don't need to worry about which "theatre" the photo was taken in but at the same time you are left with the fact that it could be anywhere in Western or Eastern Europe. Which means, of course, that you could have vehicles from any of the auto producing countries in any mix in any photo.

For the moment, I am sticking with the Opel and the Fiat and after work today I will go through some other books I have to try to figure out the middle vehicle. It does look very "German" and if so I have some good references and hope to track it down.

Very nice photo!!

It is a Ford of either 1938 or 1939. I have a real hard time with those two model years, even being an American. The cab of the truck would certainly indicate either Dutch or Belgian As always, if you have a locale for the photo that would make it easier to ID it.
